Lauren Stuhmer

7th Grade Literature & Composition

With a B.A. in English and a TESOL certificate, Lauren began her teaching career in China, where she taught English literature, grammar, and composition at the high-school level. After returning to the U.S., she taught adult English-language learners from beginner to advanced. She finds it highly rewarding to participate in “the great conversation” with her students as they learn to love wonderful literature and become increasingly confident writers and communicators. As a stay-at-home mom, Lauren enjoys read-alouds, nature walks, and engaging in creative projects with her young kids. Drawn by abundant enrichment opportunities and the nearby adventures of South Carolina, Lauren and her husband, Brett, relocated to Greenville soon after the birth of their first child. Lauren and her growing family particularly appreciate the state parks, bluegrass events, and the vibrant local homeschool community!
